All around
The Alpenlofts are on Toscaniniweg in Bad Gastein, on the Kaiser Wilhelm Promenade, at the foot of the Graukogel and above the Gastein valley. Restaurants, bars and shops in town are within walking distance, while up on the hillside it is quiet.
Right outside
Kaiser Wilhelm Promenade
The time-honoured footpath on the hillside where the five lofts sit like a small village. For the first walk in the morning and the last one at night.
Graukogel
The mountain right above the lofts. Hiking in summer, quiet ski days and ski touring in winter. The Graukogel lift's valley station is on the road into the Kötschach valley.
Haus Hirt
Evelyn and Ike Ikrath's hotel, a stone's throw away. Food and spa are just across the way.
In town
Gastein waterfall
The waterfall plunges right through the middle of Bad Gastein, between the old grand hotels.
Thermal water
Bad Gastein is famous for its healing thermal water. The Felsentherme Gastein spa is in town.
Hotel Miramonte
The Ikrath family's second hotel, a short walk away.
Bad Gastein station
Euro and Intercity trains, fast and express trains stop here. Arriving without a car is easy.
In the valley
Ski areas
Stubnerkogel, Angertal and Schlossalm form the large ski area between Bad Gastein and Bad Hofgastein. Further up the valley lies Sportgastein, high and snow-sure.
Gastein Healing Gallery
In Böckstein, a former mining gallery now used for heat and radon therapy.
Kötschach and Anger valleys
Two side valleys for walks without much climbing, in winter also for cross-country skiing and winter hiking.
